Wébé Meubelen
In the 1920s, Antoon Walraven and his son Jan, who worked at furniture manufacturer Salet , started a furniture company in his tobacco barn. The marriage of his daughter with the furniture maker Bevers, who works for Salet, led to the establishment of Walraven and Bevers, later Wébé .
In the 50s and 60s , the company grew into one of the larger furniture factories in the Netherlands. During this period they had around 150 employees and their own truck fleet. Increasing competition from low-wage countries in the 1970s caused the company to decline. Production was stopped in the 1990s . Due to the popularity of unique vintage design furniture in the 10s of this century, the Wébé products are gaining popularity again.
