Tecta was founded in 1956 by the architect Hans Könecke in Lauenförde. In 1972 Werner and Axel Bruchhäuser took over the company with the objective of making classic modernism popular in Germany. The transition to the 4th generation in the family business Tecta took place smoothly and hand in hand. After Werner Bruchhäuser left the company in 2001, his grandson Christian Drescher joined the family business. After years of joint management with Axel Bruchhäuser, Christian Drescher heads the company since 2016.
