Skovby Møbelfabrik was founded in 1933 by furniture carpenter Thorvald Rasmussen. He created with vision, bone grease and professional pride a foundation for sustainable, functional furniture design, which his son Villy Rasmussen and his grandsons Preben and Jørgen Rasmussen have since continued in his spirit.

The carpentry’s early special assignments quickly developed into complete dining rooms, and in just under 20 years Skovby furniture was produced in series. The development quickly led to the establishment of an international dealer network. A healthy organic growth with a continued focus on old craft traditions, natural materials and a business model that takes care of and commits itself to employees and the environment.
