A.H. Mcintosh

(1835 - 1919)

Alexander Henry McIntosh started his furniture business AH McIntosh in Scotland in 1869. His reputation for quality craftsmanship and interest from international trade fairs led to rapid expansion and in 1879 the business moved to a new, larger factory.

By the 1960’s McIntosh embraced Scandinavian design aesthetic. In-house designers created a number of elegant designs with clean lines and sculpted details that sold well throughout the UK, and are still sought after.
