Børge Mogensen

Denmark (April 13, 1914 - October 5, 1972)

Børge Mogensen – nicknamed the People’s Designer – was one of the most influential designers in Danish Modern Design. In 1950 he started his own design studio, borrowing inspiration from various cultures and styles, such as Japanese carvings, and historic works while using locally sourced materials. Mogensen is most famous for designing shelves, side tables, chairs and armchairs.
