It all began in 1902 in the small East Jutland village, Stouby, with a few hundred bucks, a half leather skin, a chaise longue frame and a little canvas. That’s all Stouby’s founder, Marius J. Blirup, needed to take the first step. Although the conditions were modest and the funds small, the creator’s urge for furniture was great. Marius Blirup quickly established himself as a diligent exhibitor at the annual Recurring Trade Show – the internationally recognized trade fair for Danish industry and crafts.
