Giovanni “Gio” Ponti was an Italian artist, designer and architect whose career spanned six decades. In 1927 he founded “Il Labirinto” in order to produce high-quality furniture and objects. His most famous chair, the Superleggera, is an extra light and sturdy chair. It was first produced in 1957, and is still being made.
